When I started Everyday Amen, I had no idea how much this little corner of the internet would mean—to me, and to so many of you. I didn’t create it to preach or be overly “churchy.” I just wanted a space for simple, honest faith. A place where prayers sound like real conversations with God—because that’s exactly what they are for me.  

My name is Allison, and I’m a wife, mom to two amazing kids, daughter, sister, friend, teacher, and writer. Like many of you, my life has had its fair share of highs and lows. And every single time I’ve hit a low point, it’s been my faith that’s pulled me through. It’s what steadies me when life doesn’t make sense.  

Last year, a few friends—who don’t even know each other—asked me to pray with them. At first, I wasn’t sure what to say. I didn't feel qualified. I’m not someone who prays fancy prayers; I just talk to God like He’s sitting beside me. But that’s when it clicked—there are so many people who want to pray but aren’t sure where to start. And there are others who pray often but just need fresh words, new perspective, or a small reminder that they’re not alone in their faith.  

That’s why Everyday Amen exists.  

For the ones finding their way back to prayer, and the ones who talk to God daily. For the days when faith feels steady—and the days when it doesn’t. For anyone who wants to pause, reflect, and draw a little closer to God, right in the middle of real life.
